The Dutch Lions FC Premier Academy can proudly announce its first Championship ever. Boys U14 tied for champion, but orange won the head to head game against the other champion SC Alliance.

Boys U14 have won the U15-2 division, playing only 2,5 months together, coached by Ivar van Dinteren. "I am super proud," coach Ivar says with a smile. "It's unbelievable that we managed to become Champions with the new club, playing our first season ever, and being a team for only eleven weeks!"

Overall Boys U14 didn't even show their best yet during the competition. The Lions needed some time to get used to eachother, and to learn eachother's strenghts and weaknesses. Therefor, it's a huge accomplishment, Go Lions! dutchlionsfc

At the Forest Park in Centerville this evening, it was Girls U-14's turn to perform as Dayton Dutch Lions for the first time. Coach Eddie Hertsenberg started off with great enthusiasm, but several injuries took their toll.

The team had to deal with two injuries in the first half hour, a dislocated knee and a dislocated wrist. The two girls were immediately disabled. But despite of the fact they had to move on without having any substitutes, the girls still tried their best and worked very hard.

The loss doesn't weigh up to the great mentality of the team and the cooperation they already showed, even though it's was U-14's first game ever. A great start soccerwise, the Lions can start the league with a very positive feeling.

Both teams played hard, and kept all who were there intent on watching and being involved in a competitive match. The match even caused a bloody nose. The Lions started off very focused, and played hard from the start.

This second league game was played very well defensively. Coach Eddie Hertsenberg was happy about the win; "We're moving along, it's good to get a win. More importantly, we are seeing the lessons from training being applied in the games."

"This win, and the good feeling that comes with it," continues Hertsenberg, "will increase these girls' appetite for working hard, and continuing to get better." The main strength from the game was the team played well together.

Goals were scored by captain Kaliyah Fulton and Sophie Spangler. Girls U-12 will be playing their next league game against Butler United Ladies 98 at September 11, 3:40pm at Sackett-Wright Park
